DCC Concepts - Model Railway Electronics
DCC Concepts was founded circa 2003 by Richard Johnson, an individual who has become something of a legend in the model railway industry and amongst railway modellers.
According to Mr. Johnson, the first product brought to market was an LED. Not just any LED of course but one very specifically colour corrected to represent the prototype in question. There have been many LEDs since, (and one or two other notable model railway products), and that same exacting standard has been the DCC Concepts philosophy ever since.
DCC Concepts' main base of operations was near to Perth in Western Australia but they have regularly made the trip from Australia to attend a number of UK Model Railway exhibitions including The London Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace and The Warley Show at Birmingham NEC.
During 2016 however, the company made the leap to setup permanent HQ in the North Yorkshire town of Settle, right opposite the Railway Station on the world famous Settle - Carlisle line, whilst continuing to maintain their retail and wholesale presence the other side of the globe.
Notable products introduced into the DCC Concepts range over the years include Rolling Roads universally suited for OO scale and N gauge, as well as P4/S4/EM and anything 12mm gauge too, slow action point motors that work with almost any scale. Traction decoders with extended functions and stay-alive. Accessory and point decoders that support frog polarity and momentary switch connection.
Later came the Cobalt S-Levers, a solid brass hardware locking lever switch with simultaneous switching methods for any accessory control operation. The Powerbase under roadbed traction method allowing realistic inclines and prototypical train lengths.
Let us not forget also the Cobalt Alpha range of accessory controls allowing simplified precise operation of your railway for DCC and analogue modellers alike.
